Our study shows that rats with AlCl3-induced AD exhibit greater Aβ-containing plaques accumulating in the hippocampus, cortex, and cerebral vessels, increased MDA content in the erythrocytes of jugular blood and the supernatant of the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, and reduced glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase in the supernatant of the cerebral cortex and hippocampus compared with control rats. Here, CAT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
