Tanake et al. [54] showed in a retrospective study of 82 resected high-risk stage II or III CRC that CHFR promoter CpG island methylation (assessed by pyrosequencing) was associated with a shorter recurrence free survival (log-rank test, P = 0.006) and a reduced overall survival (log-rank test, P = 0.07). Here, CHFR is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
