Based on the IFITM3 belong to 2-transmembrane-domain proteins (5-18 kDa) with high core sequence similarity but divergent N- and C-termini, we suggest IFITM3 as a growth regulator in glioma, and it may be involved in the control of transport essential raw materials for DNA and enzymic synthesis process in cell cycle progression. This evidence concerns the gene IFITM3 and central nervous system cancer.
