Consistent with earlier findings in an ovarian cancer model [36], there was a significant switch toward more genes marked by H3K27me3 in MS cells (3,607) compared to monolayer (2,411; Figure S9B in Additional file 10), but the majority of these genes were already transcriptionally silenced in monolayer culture in response to the overexpression of Twist1. This evidence concerns the gene TWIST1 and ovarian cancer.
