In the present study, we determined serum levels of the soluble forms of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1), E-selectin, vWF, interleukin-6 (IL-6): IL-12, IL-18, and C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients with subclinical and overt hyperthyroidism (OH) due to Graves disease (GD) and toxic nodular goitre (TNG), in order to evaluate the possible role of these factors as potential markers of ED resulting from thyroid dysfunction. Here, CRP is linked to Graves disease.
