POU4F2 and cancer: When methylation ratios were compared between 34 cancer samples in total and 20 normal samples in total, five genes (HIST1H3J, SHOX2, PHKG2, TLX3, and HOXA7) showed significantly higher methylation in cancer (P < 0.05, ranging from 0.0001 to 0.004, t-test), and POU4F2 tended to show higher methylation in cancer (P = 0.07, t-test) (Figure 7A).
