Proteomic analysis from spinal cord tissue from ALS patients identified elevated expression and/or activation of many protein kinases, including protein kinase C (PKC), glycogen synthesis kinase 3β (GSK3β), calcium-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinase (CAMKK), Akt, S6 K, and protein kinase A (PKA), which may augment neural death in ALS [82]. Here, GSK3B is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
