After staining of surgically removed tissues by routine hematoxylin-eosin method and immunohistochemical testing for p53 positivity (Fig. 1) we confirmed diagnosis of 8 anaplastic astrocytoma (WHO grade III) and 22 glioblastoma multiforme samples (WHO grade IV) according to WHO criteria (2007). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is anaplastic astrocytoma.
