Several clinically important variables such as older age, diabetes (DM), hypertension, history of CVD, higher values of: systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate (HR; p = 0.056), body mass index (BMI), corrected serum calcium, fasting blood glucose, or C-reactive protein (CRP), and use of diuretics or calcium channel blockers were all significantly associated with higher PWV.
