The XPF rs2276466 and rs3136038 was found to be associated with a reduced risk of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck in a previous study.17 This study indicated the GF genotype of rs2276466 was significantly associated with a decreased risk of head and neck cancer, and TT genotype of rs3136038 showed a borderline significant decreased cancer risk.17 A previous meta-analysis indicated that XPF-rs1799801 may be associated with a reduced cancer risk in Caucasian population, and XPF-rs1800067 was related to a decreased risk of pancreatic cancer. This evidence concerns the gene ERCC4 and cancer.
