It is worth noting that a single transition of the 1349th base pair T allele to G allele, inducing the substitution of the 148th amino acid aspartate (Asp) to glutamate (Glu) (Asp148Glu, rs1130409), in the 5th exon of the APEX1, has been extensively investigated in association with a wide range of cancers, such as lung cancer, breast cancer, and bladder cancer [2-4]. This evidence concerns the gene APEX1 and lung cancer.
