FZD2 and Alzheimer disease: Wnt3a can also protect from Aβ-induced apoptosis through binding Fz1 but no Fz2 (Chacon et al., 2008) and the genetic variations in LRP-6 have been associated with late-onset AD (De Ferrari et al., 2007), supporting the evidences that alterations in Wnt/β-catenin signaling could be involved in AD.
