The improving understanding of the role of EGFR in the pathogenesis of MPNST, the limitations of available treatments for MPNST, and the successful use of EGFR-targeted therapy in non-small cell lung cancer make a strong case for EGFR as a potential therapeutic target in MPNST [11,19,27,28].
