Considering the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in fungal infections and that IL-1β release has been detected in phagocytes and mice infected with P. brasiliensis[27]–[30], we aimed to evaluate whether this primary fungal pathogen induces IL-1β production via inflammasome-dependent caspase-1 activation in murine macrophages and dendritic cells. The gene discussed is IL1B; the disease is fungal infectious disease.
