Urinary CD2AP and ACTN4 mRNA expression were significantly increased in patients with diabetic nephropathy compared to healthy controls, the level of mRNA increased with progression of disease, and the levels of urinary CD2AP and ACTN4 mRNA positively correlated with levels of urinary albumin excretion, BUN, and with serum creatinine [69]. The gene discussed is CD2AP; the disease is diabetic kidney disease.
