Furthermore, the miR-25 family members are overexpressed in different cancer types (Kim et al., 2009; Li et al., 2009), and are implicated in the inhibition of pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative genes such as tumor protein 53 (Kumar et al., 2011) and BCL-2 family protein BIM; (Tsuchida et al., 2011; Zhang et al., 2012), a regulation which presumably occurs in the cytoplasm.
