APOC3 and hypertriglyceridemia: In another study, 20 SNPs of 13 genes involved in lipid transport and metabolism were evaluated in 438 HIV-infected individuals receiving ART, and the results showed that SNPs in the ABCA1, apo A-V, and apo C-III genes contributed to hypertriglyceridemia, whereas SNPs in the apo A-V and CETP genes contributed to low HDL-C [11].
