For example a network of genes and correlated metabolites in urine (Supplemental Figure 4) revealed high connectivity with 4 genes—CXCL13, TNP3, IFIT5 and CDA indicating that biofluid derived metabolite analysis might be relevant to the same underlying biological processes that were detected in tissue i.e. regulation of T-cell activation and lymphocyte trafficking in the context of CRC clinical biology.
