In the current study, we analyzed the protein expression of three key components of the EGFR/PI3K/Akt/cyclinD1 pathway and demonstrated that protein expression of p-EGFR, and p-Akt, cyclinD1 in cholesteatoma epithelium was significantly increased when compared with normal EAC epithelium. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is cholesteatoma.
