Although mutations of RAS family members are not common in chordoma, activation of HRAS can mimic activation of downstream signaling pathways driven by cell surface receptors, such as EGFR, which has been dominantly implicated in chordoma (Dewaele et al., 2011; Launay et al., 2011; Ptaszyński et al., 2009; Weinberger et al., 2005).
