TP53 and ovarian serous carcinoma: The fallopian tube fimbria epithelium has emerged as an additional candidate cell-of-origin for high grade serous ovarian carcinoma based on findings of morphologically dysplastic areas in normal fallopian tubes from women predisposed to ovarian cancer [7], and the presence of p53 mutations that were identical between these precursor lesions and the matched invasive ovarian carcinomas in the same patients [8], [9].
