CD40LG and coinfection: The possibility of Aspergillus co-infection cannot be excluded, but the chest CT showed that therapy with voriconazole resulted in a progression of infiltration, while the histology and mycology investigations on the lung and BAL samples were negative for Aspergillus. In the present context, we speculate that the high levels of anti-Aspergillus IgM Ab may be attributed to cross-reactivity with fungal antigens from the Mucoraceae family.
