Observation of p185erbB2/neu amplification was first described for a human gastric tumor [143,144,145] and Slamon and colleagues [146,147] examined the protein, DNA, and RNA levels of c-erbB-2 in breast and ovarian adenocarcinomas and correlated p185erbB2/neu amplification with a poor clinical outcome. Here, ERBB2 is linked to gastric neoplasm.
