NFKB1 and diabetic retinopathy: Epigallocatechin-3-gallate is a strong HAT inhibitor, and it inhibits p65 acetylation-dependent NF-kB activation [94] and in the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy, activation of NF-kB is considered to accelerate apoptosis of capillary cells, suggesting that inhibitor has potential to inhibit the development of diabetic retinopathy.
