Perou et al., in 2000, classified breast cancer into five main categories, according to intrinsic gene signature: Luminal A, estrogen receptor (ER) and/or progesterone receptor (PR) positive, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative; Luminal B, ER or PR positive and HER2 positive; HER2 overexpressing, basal-like and normal-like [50]. Here, PGR is linked to breast cancer.
