Focusing on the genes that act as hubs in the gene interaction network, EDN1, IL8, WNT5A, EPHB2 and CDKN2A are all genes that attribute to the normal differences between healthy upper and lower airways (see Figure 3: yellow) Therefore, they are affected by allergic rhinitis with or without asthma.
