This implies that a substantial part of the genes in the network are linked to hub genes that have been studied themselves in relation to signal transduction and remodelling in allergic asthma (EDN1, IL8, STAT1, JAK2), and genes that are involved in development and differentiation (RUNX2, WNT5A, EPHB2, CDKN2A) [22]–[28]. The gene discussed is RUNX2; the disease is allergic asthma.
