In the mid 1990s, three genes, tropomyosin 3 (TPM3), translocated promoter region (TPR), and TRK fused gene (TFG), were found to rearrange with NTRK1 to form translocations that are associated with papillary thyroid cancer [36,44]. The gene discussed is TPM3; the disease is thyroid gland papillary carcinoma.
