TACR1 and neoplasm: All the data mentioned above suggest that the treatment of melanoma cell lines (expressing NK-1 receptors) with the NK-1 receptor antagonist L-732,138 could improve melanoma treatment, because it exerts an antitumor action through three mechanisms: (1) An antiproliferative effect due to the inhibition of tumor cell growth, inducing cell death by apoptosis; (2) An inhibition of angiogenesis in the tumor mass; and (3) An inhibition of the migration of tumor cells (invasion and metastasis).
