Although pancreatic carcinoma was described in earlier reports of familial melanoma kindred in the USA [3], the first association that CDKN2A mutations also predispose patients to pancreatic carcinoma was established in Dutch melanoma families harboring a founder mutation in CDKN2A, known as P16-Leiden deletion [74,75,76,77]. Here, CDKN2A is linked to exocrine pancreatic carcinoma.
