This enzyme has been strongly connected with the formation of different types of cancer because of the high expression levels found in leukemia, prostate, breast, testicular, and ovarian cancers, in which it can act as a repressor of tumor suppressor genes including BRCA1 or as a coactivator of growth and transcription factors such as TIEG1/KLF10 or the androgen receptor [54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61]. This evidence concerns the gene KLF10 and ovarian carcinoma.
