Interestingly, knockdown of Hop by RNA targeting in pancreatic cancer cells reduced the levels of proteins that have been previously isolated as Hsp90 clients in cancer such as HER2, Bcr-Abl, c-Met, and v-Src, suggesting that Hop ablation in cancer cells could be functionally similar to Hsp90 inhibition which decreases tumor growth by reducing levels of key oncoproteins [18, 22, 109]. This evidence concerns the gene HSP90AB1 and neoplasm.
