APOB and hyperlipidemia: Mipomersen is an ASO targeting apoB which leads to a dose-dependent reduction in apoB and total cholesterol [102] and was effective in phase II and phase III clinical studies in combination with statin therapy in individuals with LDL-C 100–220 mg/dL on a maximal tolerated statin dose with or without ezetimibe, bile-acid sequestrant and/or niacin and in patients with familial hypercholesterolaemia [102] as well as in monotherapy in individuals with mild-to-moderate hyperlipidaemia [103] and in high-risk statin-intolerant patients [104].
