In these studies, which were published back to back in Nature Genetics [56, 57], Lambert et al. and Harold and colleagues described associations between late onset Alzheimer's disease and genetic markers in three genes in addition to APOE: clusterin (CLU), complement receptor 1 (CR1), and phosphatidylinositol binding clathrin assembly protein (PICALM). This evidence concerns the gene PICALM and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
