Rowley et al. (2011) also observe differences in the histopathological spectrum of pancreatic malignancies from mice in which Brca2 as well as Tp53 had been inactivated, when compared to Tp53 deficiency alone. These observations raise the possibility that the nature of Brca2 mutations, their timing, or their coincidence with alterations with Tp53 may alter the histopathological evolution of pancreatic cancers in mice. Here, BRCA2 is linked to pancreatic neoplasm.
