Furthermore, analyses of publicly available gene expression sets using the ONCOMINE or NEXBIO databases revealed that CHD8 is significantly upregulated in esophageal adenocarcinoma (P = 6.32 × 10−5) (52), ovarian carcinoma (P = 1.98 × 10−9) (53), lung adenocarcinoma (P = 2.9 × 10−9) (54) and prostate cancer (P = 0.0009) (55), suggesting a positive role of CHD8 in tumour formation. This evidence concerns the gene CHD8 and prostate carcinoma.
