LHCGR and polycystic ovary syndrome: Clinical observation has shown increased luteinizing hormone levels in the peripheral blood of PCOS patients [30], acting directly on the luteinizing hormone receptor of theca cells [31], which activates P450C17α activity within theca cells, whereas as a key enzyme in androgen synthesis, P450c17α’s increased activity or expression can promote excessive androgen synthesis, leading to local excessive ovarian androgen or hyperandrogenism in PCOS patients.
