SELE and coronary artery disorder: Previously it was suggested that the SELE gene A561C and G98T polymorphisms might be associated with a predisposition to severe coronary or peripheral atherosclerosis (more than 50% stenosis of at least one major coronary or peripheral vessel because of atberosclerosis) [18], [20], and the correlations between the two polymorphisms and CAD have been reported in several ethnic groups, including Japanese [22], Arabs [23], Egyptians [24]and so on.
