Recently, a study by Stacchiotti et al. was published on an exploratory phase II study involving 18 patients with metastatic or locally advanced EGFR-positive chordoma treated with lapatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor active against both EGFR and HER2/neu [27]; sixteen of the 18 patients had prior therapy with imatinib.
