Indeed, SATB1 expression in SATB1 deficient SKBR3 breast cancer cells resulted in increased tumor growth and a more migratory and invasive phenotype that was concurrent with increased expression of tumor/metastasis promoter genes such as c-Abl, Snail, MMP3, TGFβ-1, ErbB2 and decreased expression of tumor/metastasis suppressors including Nm23, Claudin-1, Kiss1, BRMS1, KAI1. This evidence concerns the gene SATB1 and breast cancer.
