Data showed that there was no significant difference in IGFBP1 DNA methylation levels between subjects with waists <94 cm and ≥94 cm within any group: non-diabetic control subjects (16.6% vs. 17.1%, P = 0.307), newly diagnosed (19.7% vs. 20.2%, P = 0.551) and treated type 2 diabetes patients (20.3% vs. 19.8%, P = 0.607). This evidence concerns the gene IGFBP1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
