mRNA levels of GSTA1 and caspase-3 were significantly lower in patients with FAP when compared to levels in non-FAP patient controls (GSTA1: 28.16% [25-75%: 21.62%-37.90%] vs. 38.24% [27.25%-51.76%]; Mann–Whitney U, p = 0.008); caspase-3: 3.30% [2.46%-4.68%] vs. 5.31% [4.14%-6.77%]; Mann–Whitney U, p = 0.001).
