PPARG and idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension: The current study focused on miR-27 because it: 1) regulates PPARγ, 2) is highly expressed in the lung and heart [49]–[51], 3) is increased in the lungs of animals with PH [22] and in PASMC isolated from patients with IPAH [30], and 4) participates in the regulation of proliferation and differentiation in multiple cell types [23], [35], [45], [52]–[56].
