We chose to use Il-10fl/flxCD11c-Cre+ mice instead of DT-treated CD11c-DTR+ mice for the analysis of IL-10 mRNA levels on day 5 post infection due to the described toxicity of DT treatment for 5 days [29] and to avoid secondary consequences on viral control which might be caused due to inefficient T cell priming in absence of DCs [30].
