Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to examine whether there is a link between the rs2073618 (c.9C>G, G1181C) and rs3134069 (g.119964988A>C, T245G) polymorphisms of the OPG gene and DR in type 2 diabetic patients and to evaluate whether the combined effects of these gene variations influence the risk for DR. This evidence concerns the gene TNFRSF11B and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
