CCL2 and Insulin resistance: This condition is often associated with suppression of adiponectin and elevation of leptin and various inflammatory markers (e.g., interleukin-6 [IL-6], monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 [MCP-1], C-reactive protein [CRP], and regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted [RANTES]) [2, 3] that may play a causal role in insulin resistance.
