AGTR1 and preeclampsia: Since both the vasocontractory response (via the AT1-R) as well as relaxation response (via the AT2-R) to Ang-II were blunted at the end of pregnancy, but not in experimental preeclampsia, the RAAS may be of relative low importance in blood pressure control at the end of normal rat pregnancy, while in preeclamptic rats, the contribution of the RAAS may be enhanced.
