In the present study, significantly elevated OPN expression in HL/HL group compared with HS/HS and LF group were consistent with increased TLRs and liver fat deposit, and switching to low-fat diet resulted in reversion of OPN and TLRs expressions, along with hepatic steatosis, which further proved the effect of dietary fat rich in SFA on OPN expression by TLRs and the involvement of OPN in insulin resistance and hepatic steatosis. The gene discussed is SPP1; the disease is fatty liver disease.
