Recently, two highly potent analogs of 1α,25(OH)2D3, namely 1α,25(OH)2D3-3-BE and MART-10, may offer promising hope to prolong the period of time-to-progression of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, especially if the treatment is combined with docetaxel. This evidence concerns the gene SEPTIN4 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
