The abnormal expression of RKIP plays an important role in the growth and differentiation process of GC[6] with evidences that a positive correlation between RKIP expression and the degree of differentiation of the GC tissue and a negative correlation between RKIP expression and tumor infiltration depth, TNM staging, and lymph node metastasis were found by immunohistochemistry and Western blot analyses[3,4]. The gene discussed is PEBP1; the disease is gastric cancer.
