After adjustment for age, sex, and smoking status (Model 1 of Table 6), only baseline IL-6 and sTNFR2 remained to be independent predictors for incident cancers with hazard ratio (HR) of 1.51 (95% CI 1.18-1.95, p=0.001) per natural log unit increase in IL-6, and 3.27 (95% CI 1.65-6.47, p=0.001) per natural log unit increase in sTNFR2, respectively.
